About

Hello, thanks for popping by!

I’m Elaine, a registered dietitian, and a bit fed up with some of the ‘nutrition noise’ in the media.  So along with some of my dietitian colleagues, I’ve decided to start a blog to dispel some of the #nutribollocks that’s out there and put forward evidence-based nutritional science, alongside a healthy dose of pragmatism.  It’s got to be practical or it just won’t work!

Did you know that dietitians are the only nutrition professionals to be regulated by law and are regulated by an ethical code to ensure that they always work to the highest standard? As a registered dietitian, I currently enjoy the combination of a challenging clinical NHS role, alongside freelance consultancy and media work.

As a media spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, I regularly provide quotes to journalists and contribute to radio and television programmes; providing professional evidence-based comment on nutrition news stories, translating nutrition research into meaningful messages, aiming to clarify “nutri-facts” from “nutri-fiction”.

I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and a full member of the British Dietetic Association.

Please give me a call if you have any queries about nutrition… if I feel that I’m not the right nutrition professional for you, I’ll find another specialist for you within my nutrition peer network.  Contact me via www.elaineallertondietitian.com.  Looking forward to hearing from you!
